A basket full of gOOOd things

A basket full of gOOOd things

Here at gOOOders,
we're always travelling the world, meeting people
and looking for gOOOd brands to support.

This week we travelled all the way to Ghana to do that one thing that makes us so happy: carefully collecting gOOOd and precious items and bringing them back to you all,
dear gOOOders.

A sneak peek of what we found there?
Being a gOOOder means looking for sustainable ways of living, from the way we dress to the way we move around.

Speaking of moving: what's more gOOOd than riding a bike?
By not using any gas, bikes don't release harmful emissions: just moderate increases in bicycle use each year could save an estimated 6 to 14 million tons of CO2.
Moreover, cycling is a wonderful way to improve cardiovascular health - and happiness!

So our goal, during the trip, was bringing you something that could serve you during your daily life but also during your way to Net Zero.

With that in mind, we went meeting some groups of Ghanian weavers, crafting these wonderful bike baskets that you can see here.

The aim of these artisans is to bring traditional African craftsmanship all over the world.

Everything's made to protect and respect
old-age knowledge and culture.
The Ghanian art of weaving is usually passed down through generations: it takes time and effort to learn, and to teach.

The weavers we met are from Zambia, Ghana, Kenya, Eswatini, Tanzania and Uganda.
The goal? Connecting African creativity
and mastery with the world.

We're so proud because you can find some of their precious creations on goooders.com:
meet their  marvelous bike baskets!
These baskets are carefully handmade by local weaving cooperatives using traditional methods and raw materials. Fair payment and treatment is assured for everyone in the supply chain, respecting high ethical standards.
Have you ever heard of veta vera grass? It is a Ghanaian indigenous grass: with that (and about 3 days of work),
artisans create these bike baskets.
This is part of the reason why these baskets comply with high environmental and social sustainability levels.
Every basket is signed by its own maker: we love that so much because it's a tangible way to respect the work of the artisan. Thisalso creates a special connection, an intimate relationship with materials, processes and people.
Well, you know you can find these beautiful baskets on goooders.com and now...
Ride like you mean it!
Until next time,
with love,
Your gOOOders team
